The same floor behaves differently wet.

Grip is not a fixed property of a floor. It is what happens between a shoe and a surface at the moment there is water, soap, or sunscreen in between. A floor that felt secure the year it was installed can drift as it wears, as it gets resealed, and as residue builds up in the places you rinse most often.

That drift is invisible until it isn't. Which is why we would rather measure it than talk about it.

We test your floors with a BOT-3000E slip meter. It runs a weighted boot across a wetted surface, eight inches at a time, in both directions, and returns a Dynamic Coefficient of Friction reading. DCOF is the plain-language version of how much grip a wet floor gives a moving foot.

We read that number against ANSI A326.3, the standard we use on effectively every test.

So "is this floor safe enough" stops being a matter of opinion. It becomes a number, and a conversation about what to do with it.

Most of our slip-testing work comes through architects and contractors, and the industry is moving toward requiring BOT-3000E testing before final approval on new builds. Homeowners get the same instrument and the same standard.

  • Measured again after. We retest the surface after coating, so the before and the after are both numbers.

When a surface reads below the safe range, we treat it with RexPro non-slip coating. RexPro bonds into the surface rather than sitting on top of it as a film, which is why it outlasts the older non-slip coating we replaced.

RexPro replaced the older non-slip line we inherited with the Walkway Management acquisition, which flaked and failed. We changed products because the old one did not hold.

There is also an optional grit additive for surfaces that need more texture.

If our first method doesn't solve it, we adjust methods until the expected result is achieved, within the realistic boundaries of the surface.
