Why commercial travertine wears the way it does.

reasons
Travertine is one of the most beautiful surfaces you can specify, and one of the least forgiving. Foot traffic dulls the polish. Spilled cocktails leave etches. Pits open up in the high-wear lanes. Grout lines darken.
Left too long, a restoration becomes a replacement. Left longer, it becomes a reason ownership stops booking the space.
One vendor, the full commercial travertine scope.

Honing and Polishing.
We restore, surpass, or change the factory finish, honed, matte, or polished, whichever your surface was specified to be.

Etch and Scratch Removal.
Ring stains from stemware, scuff paths from stanchion feet, drag marks from banquet chairs. Removed at the surface, not covered over.

Pit and Hole Filling.
Filled with color-matched resin where the high-wear lanes have opened up, not as a default on every floor.

Grout Cleaning and Color Sealing.
Restore uniformity to darkened or mismatched grout lines.

Penetrating Sealing (with optional color-enhancing sealer)
Our penetrating sealing agents soak into the stone rather than coating the surface. A color-enhancing option permanently darkens the finish for a wet look; a test area is recommended before committing.

MORE™ AntiEtch™ Coating (where the surface qualifies).
Lifetime-warranted etch protection for travertine countertops and vanities, on jobs completed October 2025 and later.
The Pure Light Standard™ on your job site.
Measured craft, not marketing claims.
measured
We can read a factory-finished piece of stone with a gloss meter and polish it to a higher finish than the day it came out of the box. Where the surface should be matte or honed, we bring it there exactly. Travertine deserves the same measured craft as marble.
That craft has a name behind it. Cameron Stewart is the national trainer for MB Stone restoration west of the Mississippi, and every Pure Light™ technician is certified through Pure Stone Care.

What restoration actually looks like on commercial travertine.
before & after
Questions commercial buyers ask.
How do you protect our operations during the work?
We coordinate low-disruption windows with your team, and can work off-peak or overnight when a space requires it. Every job opens with a pre-job walkthrough with your engineering or operations lead and closes with a post-job walkthrough for sign-off in person.
What happens if the first method doesn't solve it?
If our first method doesn't solve it, we adjust methods until the expected result is achieved, within the realistic boundaries of the surface. Some deeply set damage on travertine cannot be fully reversed. We will tell you honestly when we have reached that limit, before the invoice.
How do we verify your credentials before hiring?
Cal Fire / OSFM registration (#GA1582) is publicly verifiable on the state lookup at osfm.fire.ca.gov. MB Stone Restoration and MORE™ AntiEtch™ Certified Applicator credentials are on file. Ask us for either, we will send them.
Can you handle multi-site portfolios?
Yes. We service district- and portfolio-scale accounts with a single point of contact and coordinated scheduling. Cajon Valley Union School District runs across about thirty sites on one calendar.
While we're on-site.
See the standard before we see your travertine.
Free on-site assessment. Written scope promptly after the walkthrough. Coordinated around your operations, not ours.
