A velvet chair is not a carpet job.

Blue velvet armchair with a liquid spill requiring professional upholstery cleaning

A spill on a velvet armchair, a pet stain in the corner of a sectional, dining cushions that smell faintly off after a season of holidays. None of that gets solved by a generic carpet truck and a steam wand pointed at the fabric. The piece you bought, the fill underneath it, and the finish on top of it each ask for a different decision.

  • A red-wine ring on a light cotton sofa that you see everyday.

  • A pet accident in the back corner of the sectional that you can still smell when the AC kicks on.

  • Dining or outdoor cushions that appear damp, brown, or stiff.

The right method for your fabric.

Pure Light™ offers both wet (extraction-based) and dry (solvent, no water) upholstery cleaning. The right method for a velvet armchair is not the right method for an outdoor cushion, and we do not pretend it is.

Technician performing hot water extraction on a fabric sofa

Wet Extraction

  • Method: Hot-water extraction with upholstery-safe solutions, drawn out cleanly so the fabric is not left saturated.

  • Best for: Most sofas, sectionals, dining and outdoor cushions, and fabrics coded W.

  • What to expect: Dry to the touch within a few hours, fully ready for normal use the next day.

Technician dry cleaning a fabric sofa with a solvent-based upholstery system

Dry Cleaning (Solvent, No Water)

  • Method: Solvent-based cleaning that evaporates as it lifts soil. No water introduced to the fabric.

  • Best for: Velvet, crushed velvet, cotton, and fabrics coded S that are prone to browning or watermarking.

  • What to expect: Minimal dwell time, no risk of water rings, ready for normal use the same day in most cases

Not sure what fabric you have? We read the manufacturer code (W or S) during the free in-home estimate and choose the method that is actually safe for the piece. Velvet, crushed velvet, cotton, leather, and outdoor cushions that many cleaners decline are routine at Pure Light™.

The full upholstery family, in one team.

Sofas and Sectionals

The pieces your living room is built around. We treat them like it.

Loveseats and Accent Chairs

Velvet, crushed velvet, cotton, linen. Read the code, choose the method, no guesswork.

Dining Chair Cushions

Holiday red-wine, weeknight olive oil, weekend everything. Lifted and freshened, ready for the next dinner.

Outdoor Cushions

Patio sets, poolside loungers, dining-area cushions. Cleaned for the climate they live in.

Leather Reconditioning

Deep clean and condition for leather sofas, sectionals, and chairs. Not just a wipe-down.

Mattress Cleaning

Upholstery cleaning the surface most people forget. Dust, sweat, and allergen residue, drawn out.

The protection upgrade.

Technician applying fabric protector spray to a residential sofa after upholstery cleaning

A fabric protector spray, applied right after cleaning, helps the next spill bead instead of soak, and stretches the time between deep cleans. Optional on every upholstery job, recommended on the pieces most likely to need it.

What it does:

  • Makes the next spill easier to blot before it sets in.

  • Slows down the wear-and-tear that dulls a fabric between cleanings.

  • Extends the look-and-feel result of the cleaning we just finished.

When it makes sense:
Light-color sofas, high-traffic family rooms, dining cushions, and outdoor pieces.

Frequently asked questions.

How much does upholstery cleaning cost?

Pricing depends on the piece, the fabric, and the method we choose after we see it in person. We send a clear estimate before we book, so there are no surprises on the day. Most residential pieces are scoped during a free in-home assessment.

Is it safe for velvet, crushed velvet, or my outdoor cushions?
